[:en]The European Cancer Patient Congress organised by the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC) was held in Brussels, Belgium this year. The main topics covered in the conference were: cancer patient and patient relatives rights, the problems cancer patients and their relatives face and different ways of coping with these problems in various European countries. 300 members from 26 countries attended the conference.
The Hope and Life Organisation from Trabzon is an active member of ECPC for 8 years. The activities and projects of the Hope and Life Organisation were presented in the conference and received positive feedback from the other members. The Chair of the Hope and Life organisation Dr. Nimet Baki said the following regarding the conference:
“During the conference we had the opportunity to reflect upon the best practices in various countries regarding cancer patient and their relatives’ problems and possible solutions. Practices in our country are quite advanced when compared however, there is still a lot we can do to help cancer patients and their relatives.”
In addition to the Hope and Life organisation, the Pembe Hanim Cancer Patient and Relatives organisation and the Metastatic Breast Cancer Organisation represented Turkey at the ECPC conference.
